Foot Care Management for Nurses (FCM2017)

This advanced foot care course combines independent study and assignments, instructor-led theory (including hands-on activities) and a minimum of three full days of clinical practice is provided (multiple rotations of foot care provided to facility patients/residents). All supplies and instruments are included.

 

Theory is completed primarily through Online Modules. Booklets and a textbook will be provided to complete the Independent Modules and these will be mailed to you upon course registration.

 

Our Educators will review your module assignments and provide ongoing support to ensure your success.

 

At the end of this course, the nurse is prepared to provide foot care in either private practice or in a health care setting.

 

Included in the training are the standards of Alberta and British Columbia Infection Control Practices and specifically the sterilization protocols and accepted procedures for foot care nurses working in either province.

After course support is offered for those interested in reprocessing their instruments independently.

 

Course Prerequisites: Active status RN, LPN, RPN, or NP

(required to provide a copy of nursing license upon course registration).

Online Module 8: Instrument Management & Infection Control in providing Medical Foot Care (Alberta)

Online Module 9: Patient Mobility Assessment & Ergonomics

Online Module 10: Onychomycosis
